- the local government of the county/dept of Maldonado today closed off access to all public places and tourist attractions in and around Punta del Este to strongly discourage potential visitors arriving for Easter Week in the resort. Police and military will also control circulation of vehicles and people on major access roads to and from Punta del Este. The measures will stay in place until 12th april for now.
