- the luxurious Australian cruise ship Greg Mortimer has anchored 20 miles from Montevideo since the past week. The ship arrived from Ushuaia (Argentina) with 128 passengers and crew infected with the virus. 6 critically ill persons were taken off-board and admitted to Uruguay hospitals. 91 Australians are expected to be flown back to Australia by special charter on Thursday or Friday. A decision about repatriating the remaining passengers from USA and Europe has yet to be taken.
- the Uruguayan health authority recommends (no obligation yet) to wear face masks (preferably homemade to avoid diminishing supply to essential personnel) when leaving home.
