Founded by Alejandro Bulgheroni, Bodega Garzón opened its doors in 2016 to introduce the world to the modern, ultra-premium Uruguay wine scene. Located 11 miles from the Atlantic, near the tourism towns of Punta del Estate and Jose Ignacio, Bodega Garzón benefits from cooling maritime influences. With 550 vineyard acres, plantings over ancient ballast soils, a 205,000 square foot winery and the talented enologist, Alberto Antonini, Bodega Garzón is producing a portfolio of wines that reflect the purity of variety and vineyard – from Albariño to Tannat to the new icon blend, Balasto.
“To have even been nominated for such an award is an accomplishment, but to have Bodega Garzón recognized as the New World Winery of the Year is a humbling accolade,” said Christian Wylie, Managing Director of Bodega Garzón. “I’m proud of my team and the milestones we’ve achieved together which continue to motivate us as we strive for excellence in creating exceptional wines and unparalleled experiences. The best part of Bodega Garzón is the future.”
