- The Uruguay Foreign Ministery and Amazonas Airlines have agreed to offer an exceptional twice-weekly connection between Sao Paulo and Montevideo. - The Maldonado authorities and police are strictly controlling the observance for the restricted movement in closed-off areas such as access to beaches and parks. Violations could mean fines and the costly towing away of vehicles.
- Monday 13th April is the supposed start date for a slow return to the workplace. Construction workers a due back on select building sites but with a particular protocol to follow i.e. filling in a health questionnaire, 1 m distance from each other, no gatherings. Similar protocols will apply to abattoirs, haulage companies and to public transport. Schools will return progressively with schools in rural areas opening from 20th April
- The government will start a pilot scheme with general disinfection of risk areas such as hospitals, bus stops and around rubbish collection points with quaternary ammonium.
